LLMEA Middle School Honors Band
What is it?
Every January, the band directors from over 30 middle schools in Lancaster and Lebanon Counties select the best musicians in their respective schools to form the LLMEA (Lancaster Lebanon Music Educators Association) Middle School Honors Band. Several months later, this select group of musicians then gets together for a two day festival at the host site. As is common for all honors band festivals, the group is directed by a guest conductor and will perform at least five musical selections at the concert.
One of the participants in the 2013 festival writes ...
"It was really fun to play with a band with so
many people. There were lots of good players
there, and the music was really cool. I learned
a lot of new things about music, like how to
play really fast sixteenth notes with double and
triple tonguing. It was great!"

The 2015 event was held March 20 & 21 at Ephrata Middle School, 957 Hammon Avenue, Ephrata, PA 17522. Rehearsals were held Friday evening and Saturday morning, with the concert beginning at 2:30 PM on Saturday afternoon, March 21. Tickets were available at the door and cost $5 for adults and $3 for students.
